1. Alienware 34 Curved Gaming Monitor AW3420DW

The Dell Alienware 34 Ultra Wide Monitor is an excellent choice for gamers.

3440 x 1,440 resolution, complemented by a curved IPS panel (1900R), delivers rich colors and wide viewing angles.

This palette is complemented by 350 nits brightness and 1000: 1 contrast ratio.

The AW3420DW has 6 physical menu buttons to toggle the preset mode, auto overclocking, dark stabilization, brightness, and contrast control.

Below the bottom edge of the screen are an output jack, a headphone jack, five USB ports, a DisplayPort 1.2, and an HDMI 1.4 input.

Following the Alienware tradition, adjustable LED strips line the back and the angled pillars of the stand.

Players can also see the iconic alien head logo shining on its back.

The black bezel on the display is minimal at best, and the back has a titanium bronze finish.

Finally, Dell’s latest Alienware monitors use Nvidia’s G-Sync technology for smooth and seamless frame rates.

It also provides a native refresh rate of 120Hz and a response time of 2ms.

This is a slight improvement over its predecessor, Alienware AW3418DW, with a 100Hz lower refresh rate and a slower 4ms response time for $ 100 less.

2. The best ultrawide monitor for Mac: LG 34WK95U-W

If you need an extra-wide panel without sacrificing the high resolution, this LG model offers both.

The Nano IPS panel supports the massive 5120 x 2160 HDR screen resolution.

LG 34WK95U-W also completely flat, so you have a lot of options given the physical space (or shortage) of your work area.

However, you don’t need to worry about the connection.

LG Display has a lot to do, including a Thunderbolt 3 port, a USB-C port, two HDMI ports, a DisplayPort, a USB-A upstream port, and two USB-A downstream connections.

The downside is that it is undesirable to mount it on the wall.

This is because the port may become unreachable.

When installed on the wall, the hidden joystick can be difficult to use, so the settings need to be adjusted.

This joystick allows you to switch image modes, manually adjust color temperature, and change hue and saturation.

In addition to the tested high resolution, the LG monitor supports 90% AdobeRGB color gamut.

The color error is only 1.1 and the gamma curve is only 2.2.

This is all better than many of the best screens we’ve reviewed.

However, the standard refresh rate is 60Hz, which is not the best choice for some types of games.

This monitor does not offer FreeSync or G-Sync.

Ultimately, if you need the highest resolution for business or entertainment, nothing is better than viewing it at scale.

3. The best G-Sync ultrawide monitor: Acer Predator Gaming X34

The Acer Predator Gaming X34 is a great monitor for all gamers, but if you want to make the most of G-Sync, there is no better Ultra Wide screen.

Many widescreen displays support G-Sync.

But if you are looking for the best widescreen for your gaming box, nothing beats the Acer Predator X34.

It offers a resolution of 3440 x 1,440 (perfect for gaming) and a native 100Hz refresh rate (120Hz overclocked).

The brightness is not the best at 300 nits, but it is sufficient for screens that do not support HDR.

There are also other great features to compensate for the lackluster brightness of this panel.

Thanks to the IPS panel, the Acer display provides a great viewing angle for collaboration and gaming.

With a 4ms rating, there’s no big issue with latency either.

Color support is also strong, providing an 8-bit color depth and adequate color accuracy across the screen.

Built-in G-Sync technology not only prevents screen tearing, but it also shows Nvidia approval via Acer gaming monitor.

Great and very spacious for our favorite G-Sync games.

4. BenQ EX3501R 35-inch Curved Ultrawide Monitor

BenQ EX3501R has a professional look, minimalism, and for good reason.

This is a professional monitor.

It offers an immersive, gentle 1800R curve, but don’t assume you’re sacrificing color accuracy for this wrap effect.

This is one of the clearest and most accurate displays we’ve ever seen, and in our tests, it beat the tough competition with high-end Samsung, Dell, and LG monitors.

With a resolution of 3440 x 1440 and HDR, this 35-inch display gives you plenty of screen space for multiple windows or extra long editing timelines.

With a contrast ratio of 1,100: 1 and a brightness of over 330 nits, it delivers beautiful dark blacks and bright whites.

Connectivity includes HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-A 3.1 Gen 1, and USB-C.

This monitor isn’t designed for gaming, but it does a great job if you want to use it outside of business hours.

With a refresh rate of 100Hz and FreeSync support to avoid screen tearing, there are a few more requirements.

This is a great screen in all respects, but it’s our favorite Ultra Wide screen, especially for video editing.

5. MSI Optix MPG341CQR

While all the extra frills make the MSI Optix MPG341CQR a more attractive option for potential buyers, it does a great job that stands out in its own right.

Using VA technology instead of IPS panel technology is a welcome feature, as it provides stronger colors and better contrast.

Plus, the 1440p HD + refresh and the 144Hz refresh give gamers an edge.

The best part is that this monitor is one of the best gaming monitors to consider in 2020 at an affordable price.

The screen itself isn’t cheap at $ 799, but you get great gaming experience.

Since adaptive sync doesn’t work in HDR, you have to sacrifice your HDR content completely.

My 2080Ti adaptive sync experience was great.

I haven’t found any problems yet.

The screen looks well designed, durable, and can be used for a long time.

The bezels are thin and the screen starts around 8mm off the board.

OSD software (downloaded from MSI) is also good.

6. Acer Predator CG437K pbmiiippuzx

With the 43-inch Acer Predator CG437K pbmiiippuzx display, 4000: 1 contrast ratio, 1ms response time, and 120Hz refresh rate, an epic gaming experience awaits.

To be fair, there are bigger and worse gaming monitors, but for some people, especially those looking for a TV with game-grade specs, this one is a winner.

It also comes with some additional features, such as a remote control, an icon on the stand that encourages the storage of game consoles, and RGB lighting that can be synchronized with music and games, so that means that it’s every penny worth sent on it!

The bright and sharp HDR of both systems is amazing.

If you are the one who wants to enjoy the best toy box then this is for you.

When using two DisplayPort cables, this monitor supports 4k 144Hz with a 10-bit RGB color setting in the Nvidia control panel.

The color is very bright and bright.

I found the HDR color space setting in the OSD options to stand out and be the most accurate as of the field of view setting, even if I can’t enable Windows-assisted HDR in a 144Hz configuration.

7. BenQ Zowie XL2540

Do not be disheartened by its limitations.

The BenQ Zowie XL2540 still deserves its place on our list of the best gaming monitors.

It neglects the cool lighting effects of an astonishing 240Hz refresh rate and a fast 1ms response time.

This monitor is compatible with FreeSync and G-Sync, and this gaming monitor will amaze you if you have a setting that can maintain that refresh rate.

The BenQ Zowie XL2540 simplifies the task by offering several visual presets, a “S Switch” control compartment to manage these presets, and a pair of adjustable lighting displays.

This screen is a very unique experience and a very reasonable price for the results.

I bought this without taking care or reviewing anyone other than me and paid for it out of my pocket on the cool Amazon as usual.

I love to play on this screen.

I have different screens for my work and videos.

This is about the game for me.

The native resolution is 1080p, so it provides much less lag for any gaming system or console.

The 24.5-inch screen gives you a lot of space to get a distinct advantage.

9. Acer Predator XB3

When it comes to 4K gaming, it’s not cheap.

The same is true for screens, especially screens with higher refresh rates.

Therefore, in economic terms, the Acer Predator XB3 outperforms many of its competitors.

It also comes with some additional benefits: Nvidia G-Sync and certified VESA DisplayHDR 400.

4K resolution, 144Hz refresh, and G-Sync support provide excellent speed and resolution, and a powerful, precise, and accurate IPS panel.

It is not perfect.

It’s a bit cheap in structure, lacks true HDR capabilities, and is only 27 inches long.

But it is still one of the best 4K displays for value.

It is one of the best ultrawide monitors on the market.

A little expensive, but this is a beast.

Excellent clarity and response time, there is also a built-in LED speaker/headlight.

It’s one of the few monitors on the market that can play 4k at 144Hz with a low response rate.

The actual User Manual, which has basic instructions for accessing the settings, can be downloaded from the Acer site on the Support page for this model monitor.

10. AOC Agon AG352UCG6 Black Edition

AOC Agon AG352UCG was one of the best gaming monitors we’ve ever got, so it was hard not to be excited when we heard that there was a follow-up coming that would provide higher refresh rates and better contrast.

AOC Agon AC352UCG6 Black Edition keeps the best features of the original version, but increases it to 11, making it a great screen for an ultra-wide gaming experience.

Yes, it’s pricey, but if you have the hardware to back up, you’ll lose money by not investing.

The black level surpasses IPS by a mile (different from OLED, but otherwise pretty good).

On the IPS screen, go to VA.

Colors are more vivid and blacks are darker.

144Hz is the icing on the cake.

Best Ultrawide Monitor Buying Guide

If you are looking for the best gaming monitors in the market of 2020, here are some things to keep in mind before choosing a monitor that works for your office.

We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the following terms and specifications to get the best gaming monitor that suits you.

Plus, you don’t have to pay more for the extra features that you don’t really care about.

Screen size: One of the most important things to consider when looking for a gaming screen is the screen size.

The larger screen size can lead to a more immersive gaming experience as the game fills up more of your field of vision, but you must make sure that you have room to accommodate your large screen.

The larger the screen, the higher the price.

Aspect ratio: The aspect ratio of the gaming monitor helps you to determine the width and height of the screen.

Most widescreen monitors have a 16: 9 aspect ratio, while older screens are close to the 4: 3 square format that you might feel out of date in 2020.
Ultra-wide screens with a 21: 9 aspect ratio grow quickly.

Popularity gives you a broader view of your games, which is why many Ultra Wides make their list of the best gaming monitors of 2020.

Resolution: Another important factor to consider when searching for the perfect display for your needs is accuracy.

The higher the number, the sharper the image.

However, even though many gaming monitors offer high resolutions of 2560 x 1400 (WQHD) and 3840 x 2160 (4K), you need a more powerful graphics card for everything higher than Full HD (1920 x 1,080).

Refresh rate: If you are going to mostly play Counter-Strike and other FPS games like this one, the refresh rate is more important.

The higher the refresh rate, the more frames per second (fps) your screen can support, giving you smoother gaming experience.

60Hz refresh rates are still the most popular in 2020, but refresh rates from 144Hz to 200Hz are just getting clearer.

Response time: Premium gaming monitors have low response times, letting you perform fast and smooth tasks with little or no input lag.

The lowest response times for TN displays (we’ll cover it in the next section) is 1ms, but modern IPS displays typically have 4ms slower response times.

When playing competitively, it is important to keep this number as low as possible to avoid latency.

Panel Type: This is a bit technical.

The type of board the gaming monitor uses contributes greatly to response time and clarity of the picture.

TN (nematic nematic) panels, which are often cheaper, have shorter response times, but generally have poor viewing angles.

On the one hand, IPS (In-Plane Switching) panels provide great viewing angles and color reproduction, but they generally have higher response times.

On the other hand, there is a VA (vertical alignment) board between the two panels, but these panels are rare in the gaming world due to their slow response times.

Viewing angle: Most people play games directly in front of their gaming monitors, but this isn’t always the case.

Especially if you have an audience.

The viewing angle of the screen gives you a clear picture while telling you the angle from which to view the screen.

The closer this number to 180, the more you will stand on either side of the screen, or enjoy a better viewing experience when viewing from above or below.

G-Sync and FreeSync: You might know that many of the best gaming monitors of 2020 come with G-Sync or FreeSync.

This keeps frames per second smooth, prevents screen tearing, and reduces input lag.

G-Sync was developed by Nvidia, so it requires an Nvidia GPU.

This technology is built into the screen and could raise the price.

On the other hand, FreeSync is made by AMD.

The screens are usually more economical because they are available free from the manufacturer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Are ultra-wide screens worth it?

A. Ultrawide monitors are an alternative to multiple monitor settings.

It removes the ugly frame that divides two or more screens for a cleaner, more integrated experience.

You can mix and match features with multiple projectors.

For example, you could use one for games and the other for business.

Either way, the settings make it easy to get everything you need.

Everything should be in one ultra-wide display.

Otherwise, a little sacrifice is required.

This has a particularly big effect in games where wide and large resolutions can strain even high-end graphics cards.

You also need to take into account the physical space of a very large display.

They can be large, so make sure your office and room have enough space to accommodate volume.

Q2. Is Ultra Wide Screen Suitable For Games?

A. Maybe.

Although not all ultra-wide screens are designed with gaming in mind, they can offer the most immersive gaming experiences outside of virtual reality.

Ultra-wide screens with large curved screens can cover your peripheral vision in a more comprehensive way than conventional screens.

Not all games support Ultra Wide Resolution, and these extra pixels can put more pressure on your graphics card than usual.

Q3. How to split your screen onto an ultra-wide screen?

A. The way you split the screen is up to you, but in newer versions of Windows, you can easily install multiple windows or applications in place.

Click the window, drag it to the edge of the screen, and release it to lock it into place.

Or press the Windows key and the arrow keys to lock the window in that part of the screen.

There you can fill in additional space with other windows.

You can also lock it manually using the same method mentioned above.

When everything is in place, you can resize it by clicking and dragging the separator between windows.

Some ultra-wide screens vary per manufacturer, but they also offer more powerful hardware solutions.

Check the setup guide for details.

Q4. What's the best size for an Ultra Wide screen?

A. Many of the considerations regarding screen size are directly related to personal needs.

How much space do you have and why do you plan to use the screen?

If you are looking for the largest ultra-wide screen, there are several 49 ”monitors out there, like the Samsung CHG90 or Dell’s 49” Ultrasharp.

Of course, as discussed above, screens smaller than 49 inches tend to have better pixel density, which could ultimately mean higher quality images.

However, you don’t necessarily have to have the largest screen on the market.

The 34-inch option with a 21: 9 aspect ratio is a great place to start.

It’s large enough to allow you to experience the full effect of the display without completely overtaking your desk.

Conclusion

The bottom line is that the ultrawide monitor delivers a better (subjective) experience than a 16: 9 board in terms of productivity, gaming, and media consumption.

Since Ultrawides supports 21: 9 resolution, users can not only put more documents and objects side by side but also have a much wider field of view when it comes to games.

Movie consumption also benefits as you can watch movies in the default 21: 9 ratio without the annoying black bars.

No matter what your needs are, or what you are looking for, there is always an ultrawide monitor that is right there!

You know how we love to hear from you, so please drop in your valuable thoughts, suggestions, and comments.
